But we didn't stop at providing housing. Breaking Ground's programs and services help people experiencing street homelessness - especially those who have been on the streets the longest - to come indoors. Through our Street to Home outreach program and transitional housing resources, we help people get, and stay, on the path to a permanent home.

Facility Maintenance Supervisor, Programs

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Facility Maintenance, Transitional Housing, the Facility Maintenance Supervisor, Programsoversees the day-to-day building operations, including all functions and supervising the staff of the Maintenance Department. The Facility Maintenance Supervisor directly impacts the quality of life of all tenants by providing a structurally safe, exceptionally clean and highly maintained positive environment. The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor develops a preventative maintenance plan, and performs electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general carpentry work. The Facility Maintenance Supervisor assigns tasks and coordinates inspections with tenants, supervisors, peers, and related city agencies and oversees the maintenance of the building systems through work orders, purchasing, and building inspections to ensure the building maintains its certificate of fitness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee day to day building functions including supervising maintenance, housekeeping, and inspections

  • Manage building maintenance services and systems with contractors and supervisors

  • Oversee work order system and unit turn over process

  • Address tenant concerns about maintenance via meetings or written notices

  • Respond to emergency calls and rectify existing conditions

  • Respond to summons and violations, city complaints, and help develop strategies to reduce violations and summons

  • Assist in preparation of annual budget and maintaining budget for maintenance department

  • Maintain inspection logs for standpipe/sprinkler, maintenance logs, and all federal, state and city regulations

  • Ensure building compliance with all building and health codes

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the building trades or related field

  • Basic skills in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and dry wall application

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams and some property management software i.e. MRI Outlook

  • Ability to read and understand design drawings
