Job Description

At Thermo Fisher, we are looking to rapidly expand our presence within Indonesia, which is a focus market for us. In the role of Indonesia logistics manager, you will be a key contributor to the Thermo Fisher Scientific Supply Chain team, supporting end to end order fulfilment of products to our local customers within Indonesia. High level responsibilities will cut across the multiple aspects of the supply chain including handling import and export processes, managing local transportation, as well as our warehousing operations and strategy. As this is a new role in the organization, highly motivated people who are solution oriented and want to make an immediate impact on the organization are most desired.

Key Responsibilities include:

Import Export

  • Liaison with freight forwarders and other internal / external third parties to coordinate all import / export shipment activities, including customs clearance and relevant documentation in line with local policies and regulations

  • Liaison in both pre & post sales activities to ensure related to import and export processes and documentation

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to imports and exports

  • Monitor and analyse import/export data to identify compliance risks, and take corrective actions to ensure compliance

Transportation

  • Manage freight forwarders covering both international transportation (primarily inbound to Indonesia), and domestic transportation including outbound to Indonesia customers

  • Coordinate with internal customer service, procurement, planning teams on shipment prioritization, and schedules

  • Drive operational excellence monitoring transportation shipment schedules, lead times, service levels, costs

  • Identify and optimize local transportation and fulfilment strategy

Warehousing

  • Partner with 3PL to ensure efficient management and operation of all warehousing activities including physical inventory management, storage, inbound and outbound processes, etc

  • Optimize internal / external 3PL capabilities to meet growth, service, cost and cash targets

  • Effectively manage projected space requirements and strategy as per business requirements to support relevant go to market strategies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field

  • Min 10 years of experience in relevant field

  • High level of familiarity with Indonesian Import/Export and customs clearance protocols, documentation, registration & licensing requirements, as well as generally accepted international standards

  • Experience in dealing with controlled products such as Medical Devices, In Vitro Device, Dangerous Goods

  • Experience partnering with multiple international and domestic freight forwarders, and 3PL providers

  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP's

Key Competencies

  • Self motivated and a self starter, high levels of self accountability and ownership

  • Experience leading a team

  • Ability to work in a complex and highly matrixed environment

  • Confident dealing with high levels of ambiguity

  • Required language(s): Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia, High proficiency and fluency in English both written and oral

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
