SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST- SLP - School

Speech Language Pathologists are needed forfull-time, school-basedpositions inJacksonville, Florida. These positions offer full-time scheduling, Monday through Friday, 35 hours weekly for the duration of the2023 - 2024 school year. Part-time scheduling may be offered for the right candidates. We currently have multiple school locations available, for elementary, middle, and high school ages.Ideal candidates will have at least two years of recent pediatric/school-based experience, excel in independent time management and a fast-paced environment, be proficient in evaluations, and have excellent communication skills.New graduates will be considered. CF Supervisors offered. This district understands the importance of a supportive network of SLPs and leadership and makes that very readily available.

PAY:

$1,505/weekly gross

$43/hourly

  • Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement

  • Provides a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech and hearing handicapped children

  • Assists and guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring to suspected and identified speech and language impairments

  • Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of articulation, voice, hearing, stuttering, and language impairments

  • Provides screening to identify speech-handicapped children at regular intervals and specified levels

  • Provides appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and to correct existing speech or language handicaps

  • Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by making suggestions for the student's daily activities

  • Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate

  • Provides in-service education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school members on topics concerning speech improvement

  • Keeps thorough ongoing records for the individual student receiving therapy or other school-provided speech services

JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THESPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST:

  • Successful completion of National Certification Examination

  • 1+ yearsof recent pediatrics/school-based experience preferred

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

  • Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology

  • Valid SLP license in FL

  • ASHA certification
