SHIPBOARD SUPERVISOR (VEHICLE MAINTENANCE)

The Marine Corps' Prepositioning (MCPP) Program is based FROM Blount Island in Jacksonville, Florida, WITH DUTY ASSIGNMENT ABOARD A SHIP IN GUAM, SAIPAN, OR DIEGO GARCIA. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy. We are seeking a Shipboard (Ground Vehicle Maintenance) Supervisor.

Maintenance Supervisor-Shipboard Responsible for ensuring all contractual matters are accomplished on the assigned ship to include all reporting requirements. The ship supervisor reports directly to the Shipboard Manager and has the authority to make routine day-to-day decisions affecting the ship. Maintains a turnover file on a fleet-wide standard format. Accomplishes stock surveillance and corrective maintenance within capabilities. Plans and coordinates the Semi-Annual Start-Up Program (SASU) in conjunction with exercises of MMC downloads. Advises the Shipboard Manager on the status of maintenance requirements, supply status and related subject and reports on a monthly basis. Based on the requirement a Material (Store Keeper) or Maintenance type should be aware of Hazardous Materials. As the Responsible Officer of the vessels you will be charged with EKMS Assets along with all classes of supply ranging from Class I through Class IX. Utilizes the GCSS-MC input from MMC section to evaluate readiness posture, establish positive control over the publication program, forecasts equipment failure rates, establishes and monitors the calibration program. Also maintains the shipboard technical publications library, conducts daily (every working day) weapons armory checks, ensures operating reefer containers are checked every working day and reports authorized overtime. Follows all provisions of the Statement of Work (SOW). Oversees and directs MCPP Shipboard Maintenance activities within assigned vessel to ensure the continuous maintenance and repair of vehicles, and equipment including exercising of equipment. Supervises technicians and ensures compliance with administrative policies, procedures, government regulations and interfaces with customer representatives. Performs administrative and management responsibilities to ensure an overall efficient operation. Provides technical guidance/assistance and makes decisions where guidelines are not available. Performs and coordinates the GCSS-MC requirements. Evaluates equipment performance and prepares reports including recommendations as required. Trains personnel on equipment operations and maintenance and ensures employees adhere to all safety requirements, procedures, and policies. Assigned Communications Security Material Systems (CMS) Local Holder (LH) Custodian. Exercises equipment and prepares documents as required. Ensures all requirements concerning Statement of Work (SOW) obligations are performed aboard assigned vessel. Qualifications; Minimum 6 years of direct experience with supervisory/management experience in military related fleet management, maintenance, or supply chain management. Formerly held one of the following Marine Corps or other service equivalent Military Occupational Specializations- 3002, 3010, 3043, 0402, 3510, 2110, 3529, 1349 or 2149; Army 91B3, 91X, 91Z, 120A, 915A, 915E and 919A. Note – Red indicates Supply Diplomas, certificates, and certifications are required to verify qualifications. Must possessor be eligible for a Secret security clearance. High School Graduate or equivalent. Must have chronological, specific resume and DD214. Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport. Able to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC). Able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC). Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must pass a comprehensive physical examination (Military Sealift Command Standards) drug screening, and detailed background investigation. GCSS-MC experience preferred.
