P rimary Job Responsibilities
Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
Participate in strategic financial projects including ERP implementation and ongoing initiatives
Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment
Collaborate with auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
Interacts at all levels with stakeholders to produce timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting.
Responsible for hierarchy and scalability in chart of accounts and accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements and has ultimate authority over classification and booking of all transactions
Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establishes the proper techniques to discover potential errors and prevent fraud
Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses
Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns, including sales & use tax, property tax, and 1099 compliance
Work with Audit, Tax, Risk, and Treasury at Pulte to ensure overall coordination of all financial accounting activities as the need arises
Prepare summary feedback of financial statements variances to budget
Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes
Assist with preparation of annual plan and quarterly updates to forecasts

R equired Education/ Experience
Minimum Bachelors-degree in Accounting or equivalent
7+ years of accounting or finance related experience
CPA or Advanced degree a plus
Required Skillsets
· Ability to travel 10%
· Knowledge of accounting theory and practice
· Strong attention to detail
· Ability to organize and manage multiple projects or tasks
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Proficiency with accounting information systems
· Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
