  • Maintain and analyze various balance sheet reconciliations and prepare related journal entries for Pilot (PCA) and subsidiary (PPdM).
  • Maintain property, plant, and equipment records for book and tax purposes utilizing fixed asset software. Reconcile property, plant, and equipment software records to the general ledger. Prepare depreciation projections for book and tax purposes as needed.
  • Prepare various financial analyses (e.g., analyze gross profit variances to budget, freight analysis, sensitivity analysis, foreign currency analysis, trend analysis, etc.).
  • Prepare the monthly financial statements in formats required for parent company and management for PCA, PPdM, and consolidated.
  • Review financial statements for PPdM prepared by the external accountants; prepare financial statement package and summary analysis for management presentation; and prepare any other needed financial analysis.
  • Prepare meeting presentation materials for quarterly management discussions.
  • Coordinate the preparation of requests from the external financial statement auditors for the quarterly reviews and annual financial statement audit.
  • Prepare personal property tax returns and related estimations for budgeting process.
  • Prepare and monitor capital expenditure budget. Lead monthly discussion with operations team to aid in the CapEx monitoring process.
  • Maintain and prepare the budget package for submittal to parent company (Pilot Corporation) and internal management. Assist in the preparation of various schedules for the annual budget, including trend analysis for other departments.

[education and experience requirements: [Bachelors degree in accounting or finance with up to seven years of accounting experience. CPA, or in progress of obtaining, is highly preferred. *[skills required: [Knowledge of the general ledger is required. Strong interpersonal and team skills. Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Flexibility and willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures. Strong mathematical ability as well as good proofreading skills, accuracy, analytical and attention to detail. Ability to complete projects within the assigned deadlines.
