Job Title: Sr. Accountant

Hello, our client is in urgent need of a high-level sr. accountant to assist their team in a project focused around preparing for an internal audit for the new year. This client is actively growing as an organization and continuously building out their accounting and finance department, so there is a chance that this position could go permanent upon completion of the contract. The ideal candidate will be able to perform independently while working in a collaborative team setting.

Job Description

  • Facilitate and complete month-end closing procedures, including general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and determining effective means of handling accounting transactions.

  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements by department, and statements of cash flow.

  • Analyze financial statements, including variances in the P&L against budget, and meet deadlines in accordance with a month-end closing calendar.

  • Maintain accounts within the ERP system for general ledger, accounts payable, and receivables.

  • Coordinate meetings with the Corporate Accounting Manager and financial analysts to communicate general ledger activity related to department budgets.

  • Support the Controller and Corporate Accounting Manager with special projects and workflow process improvements.

  • Assist CFO and Controller with annual external financial audit, state audit, and organization tax return (Form 990) preparation.

  • Research, develop, and maintain accounting policies in accordance with GAAP.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with other co-workers and departments

  • General Ledger Accounting

  • Reconciliations

  • Audit preparations
