National Dentex Digital Design Manager-Dental Lab Technician III in Jacksonville, Florida

Description

Join National Dentex - a leading healthcare organization specializing in the dental industry! We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. Currently, we have 50 labs throughout the country. We are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX Dynamic Dental Solutions Dental Laboratory in Jacksonville, FL for a Full Time Digital Design Manager-Dental Lab Technician III.

The regular hours for this position are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Accountable for workflow and assignment of cases meeting department due dates

  • Confer with lab technicians and other personnel to refine operating procedures, resolve problematic scenarios, and provide technical information.

  • Research and Develop new and innovative methods and products as they pertain to the dental industry.

  • Read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist.

  • Knowledge and comfortability with computers.

  • Operate the computer-aided design & computer-aided manufacturing steps for the designing process, including scanning, loading and creating files.

  • Operate software for nesting designs to be processed through the milling / printing process.

  • Load information into the computer, such as patient name, pan number, type of crown, shade.

  • Follow all required steps, to insure consistent, accurate results.

  • Handle inbound & outbound calls to doctors as needed.

  • Assist Manager with training and develop team members.

  • Use past experience and successes to effectively trouble shoot and problem solve.

  • Manage daily job task assignments to keep production running at high levels of efficiency.

  • Disseminate knowledge and provide continual team improvement through teaching and instructing.

  • Maintain productivity by monitoring workload of functional areas; identifying peak and slack periods; making operational or staffing adjustments.

  • Maintains department staff by recruiting selecting orienting, and training employees.

  • Ensure the work flow process meets Company standards of quality control, production and documentation.

  • Review final work to confirm that quality standards have been met.

  • Clean work area daily.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Capable of managing time and working well with others

  • Strong leadership skills and accountability

  • Knowledgeable in dental anatomy and terminology

  • Strong problem solving skills, capable of coming up with creative approaches for generating new ideas and improving existing processes or products in the unit.

  • Professional skill level in the use of CAD software using engineering and design principles to maximize output.

  • Strong ability to read, listen, comprehend, retain, and execute on written and verbal instructions.

  • High level of organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • This technician has a minimum of five (5) years of experience and is skilled in one or more of the skills associated with a Dental Laboratory Technician.

Hazardous Materials or Equipment Used:

  • Computer and scanning equipment.

  • Small machinery.

  • Hand-pieces.

    • Additional related materials or equipment, as required.
  • Personal protective equipment, as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel and/or reach.

  • Fine motor skills and ability to perform repetitive motions.

  • Vision capabilities, including depth perception, attention to detail, and color.

Education Required

  • High School or Equivalent or better
Experience Required

  • 5 years: Must have 5 years of experience as a Dental Laboratory Technician and is skilled in one or more of the tasks associated with a Fixed Department Dental Laboratory Technician.
