Georgia-Pacific Sr. Process Control Engineer (153532) in Jackson, Mississippi

This is a Sr. Process Control Engineer position with a company in Jackson, MS.

Summary: The Senior Process Control Engineer in this role will partner with our large Consumer Products, Cellulose, and Containerboard continuous manufacturing operations across the United States focusing on our Utilities and Chemical Recovery process areas within those mills.

Responsibilities: Assisting mills in keeping control systems operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. Providing troubleshooting and support of the daily manufacturing operation. Providing guidance to manufacturing operations on selection and implementation of process control technologies and strategies. Working with local operations and process control teams to optimize current process control assets and process performance. Designing, programming, and modifying control strategies within existing control systems. Pursuing engineering solutions to resolve equipment deficiencies. Supporting large and small capital projects as a corporate SME.

 Qualifications: 5+ years' experience working with DCS-based systems, including troubleshooting, configuration, and design. Ability to travel up to 75%

Preferred: Experience working in the utilities and chemical recovery area of a pulp and paper mill. 10 or more years of professional experience working with DCS based control systems to include troubleshooting, configuration, and design. Experience with Honeywell TDC and Experion or Emerson Delta-V. Knowledge and familiarity working with safety system controls: BMS, ESP, etc.
