Summary

The Senior Manager of Field Finance reporting directly to the Director of SCS Finance. It provides financial analysis and support for monthly close process and annual business plan to Directors of Operations.

Essential Functions

  • Month-End Closing:

  • Oversee explanations of variances vs. forecast / annual plan and ensure billing opportunities are captured

  • Training: Manage and develop finance support staff related to technical skills; lead efforts for full financial training to BU staff

  • Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance: Ensure adequate controls are in place to drive Sarbanes Oxley compliance; we are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley revenue recognition procedures and there is compliance with all terms of contracts that could create financial opportunities or create financial exposures

  • Work with the Field Finance Director to translate, communicate and implement corporate financial policies, guidelines, procedures and controls

  • Oversee the collection of accounts receivable

  • Support analysis of proposed new business including pricing, optimizing the deal structure, development of customer proposals and subsequent negotiation

  • Provide detailed budget tracking for new business startups

  • People management: lead a financial team, develop technical and process skills, as well as leadership competencies to build bench strength

  • Decision Quality, Managerial Courage, Intellectual Horsepower, Dealing with Ambiguity, Building Effective Teams, Innovation, and Drive for Results

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Ability to manage conflicting deadlines and multi-task in a demanding environment

  • Ability to influence and persuade (multi-directional)

  • Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects

  • Good communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to interact with and influence senior level personnel both internal as well as external

  • Advanced knowledge of financial concepts and principles (cash flow, balance sheet, cost of capital, depreciation, tax reporting, etc)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, Excel- prefer advanced level

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required

  • 7-10 years of related experience; minimum of five years managing these combined functions (finance and accounting support functions to include financial analysis and planning, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • MBA strongly preferred

  • Financial management experience in the transportation industry is strongly desired

Salary is determined based on internal equity; internal salary ranges; market

data/ranges; applicant’s skills; prior relevant experience; certain degrees or

certifications, etc.

The salary for this position ranges from $125K to $150K . Employees may also be eligible

to receive an annual bonus, as applicable
