POSITION: 1st & 2nd Shift CNC Machine Operators LOCATION: Jackson, MI COMPENSATION: $17.00 Hourly SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday STANDARD HOURS: 7:00am-3:30pm OVERTIME HOURS: TO APPLY: Call us at 517-784-1415.

*POSITION OVERVIEW: *CNC machine operators for machining, assembly and heat treat of powertrain, suspension & brake parts for on and off-highway, automotive applications. CNC Machine Operators are responsible for the set-up and operations of machine equipment to produce finished products. Operators will be responsible for meeting customer specifications and internal quality standards as well as following all safety procedures.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operation of multi-axis CNC equipment such as Horizontal & Vertical Machining Centers, Gear Hobbing Machines, and CNC Lathes with live tooling.
  • Machine product per drawing specs and QA Best Practices. Setup and run cell equipment with the right CNC programs, tooling, and fixtures for each job.
  • Read sketches and blueprints and translate into machine set-up.
  • Check first piece machined and adjust attain product specifications.
  • Ensure Product Quality by performing periodic visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Report production rates, machine utilization, quality issues, yield, and efficiency for each machine.
  • Load/Unload parts utilizing overhead crane of lift truck.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to the equipment.
  • Support maintenance on major repairs.
  • Responsible for housekeeping of the machining cell.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CNC Understanding -- Tool tables, set up screens, program reading, making basic changes in programs, program selection.
  • Ability to read and interpret Blueprints.
  • Basic Geometric Dimensions & Tolerance.
  • Understanding of machine tooling. -- Proper tool selection for each machine.
  • Good understanding of Metrology. -- Use of calipers, micrometers, tape, etc.
  • TPM -- Total Productive Maintenance -- Daily checks, basic lubrications, 5s, cleaning components.
  • Self-directed.
  • Capable of running multiple machines at once.
  • Capable of operating overhead cranes, pallet jack, lift trucks.

  • Machine set-up per set-up instructions a plus.
  • Basic Machine Troubleshooting.
  • Effective team management skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • CNC Programming.
  • Machine Troubleshooting.
  • Able to set up and run on multiple CNC machines simultaneously.
  • Frequent lifting, bending, twisting, stooping is required as part of this position.
  • Most work is performed in the manufacturing area.

  • Casual Attire Pants that fit, T-shirt is fine. No shorts, cut off or tank tops. Hoodies can be worn but no hoods on heads.
