Job Title: *Equipment Operator 2 *Location: Issaquah, WA *Closes: *This recruitment is posted continuously. Application review will begin on March 24th, 2024, and weekly thereafter. The hours for this position are 40 hours per week. Workdays are Monday -- Thursday.  Employees who have workstations located in King County receive a 5% premium pay in addition to the salary listed.

Under the general supervision of the Equipment Technician Supervisor, this position independently performs a variety of responsibilities that include vehicle and equipment transportation to and from Parks Central Shop, and statewide heavy equipment operation and transportation, including brush mowing, grading, trail maintenance, crane operation and large project support for par and region crews statewide.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performs journey level heavy equipment operating, supports Parks Central Shops operations with vehicle/equipment deliveries and assists parks and region crews with maintenance of parks roads, trails, and other equipment operations as needed.
    • Transports statewide vehicles/equipment from parks and region office to Parks Central Shop.
    • Work with area managers, region maintenance managers and trail teams while operating shops brush mower at various parks and trail maintenance projects statewide.
  • Supports shops staff in fabrication of metal products, equipment operations, equipment/vehicle repair and maintenance.
    • Assist shops equipment technicians with repairs on vehicles/equipment as needed.
    • Assist other Park areas with field equipment operations.
    • Performs preventative maintenance on operated equipment.
  • Coordinate with management, other employees, volunteers and correctional crews during maintenance and repair projects.
  • Maintain health and safety standards.
  • Work alone in remote areas.
