Job Description

The Business Applications Manager will be responsible for leading a team of business analysts within the Business Applications department. This position will be responsible for gathering and analyzing requirements for software development projects, coordinating with stakeholders to document the technology needs of the business, coordinating with the software development team to ensure projects are completed on time and meet the expected requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of business analysts to ensure that the business applications are delivered on time, within budget, and per the expected requirements.

  • Partner with project sponsors and stakeholder(s) to understand business needs, build business case, outline initial project charter.

  • Identify and develop digital solutions to convert existing business processes.

  • Develop and maintain a roadmap for implementing new business applications and enhancement and optimization of existing systems.

  • Communicate ideas and implementation solutions to senior management and onboarding teams.

  • Analyze, document complex IT system flows for business processes and summarize data for IT and business reporting.

  • Implement Business Application teams' strategy, identify requirements, set priority for development activities with the development team, consisting of product roadmaps, development, QA, and documentation.

  • Ensure all application development tasks are thoroughly tested and provide training and support to end-users of the business on all new development initiatives.

  • Manage and lead the support process to resolve critical defects reported by the customers through JIRA.

  • Participate in sprint reviews and scrum meetings to ensure all development tasks stay on track.

  • Work with the Business Technology leadership development program utilizing business analytics and intelligence to identify potential leaders and establish best practices for development.

  • Collaborate with PMO (Project Management Office) to create departmental guidelines and incorporate best practices in delivering requirements to both internal and external development teams.

  • Partner with the business to develop and transition plans, including ongoing success measures, to sustain the change.

  • Maintain record of changes in instructions and ensures all team members are informed of changes.

  • Responsible for day-to-day coordination, administration of tasks, ensuring quality and productivity standards are maintained while meeting customer schedules, and administrative reporting.

  • Streamline and expedite the software development process by following SDLC methodologies.

  • Be a liaison and task manager ensuring the customer requirements are properly expressed to vendors.

    Skills & Education

  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Management, or other relevant fields.

  • 10+ years of experience in managing business applications, including ERP, CRM, HRIS, and other business-critical systems.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, product management, stakeholder management, and project management skills.

  • Proven experience in managing teams of business application analysts and support personnel.

  • Excellent experience in managing complex, cross-functional projects including robotic process automation, business process re-engineering, customer portal, ERP.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall, and software development tools, such as JIRA or Trello.

  • Development experience in programming languages such as .NET Core, Angular, MVC, Python, C#, ASP.NET is a plus.

  • The ideal candidate would have worked closely with development teams.
