Dsm-firmenich is seeking an experienced Regulatory Affairs Specialist with expertise in the South African regulatory landscape in Food and Pharmaceuticals. This role will be a key contact with the local authorities and trade association as well as a focal point for internal functions who will guide the business through local regulations.

• Contribute as a Regulatory Affairs team member in the joint efforts for the development of the global product approval strategy in a timely and accurate manner• Prepare registration dossiers, product related documentations and necessary registration certificates for Product approvals based on the global regulatory affairs strategies or adaptation and submission of the dossier to the local authority and follow up on the approval process• Contribute to secure regulatory compliance also covering the safety of the products• Contribute to regional representation, networking and shaping activities in South Africa trade associations and in Africa region in general• Provide input on changing regulatory environments in the Africa region• Support customer queries related to dsm-firmenich products in close collaboration with other internal functions• Contribute to the development of dsm-firmenich opinions in Reg. Affairs

You bring• Master or Bachelor’s degree, in natural sciences or life sciences• Recognized expert in Regulatory Affairs with an established network; experience in food, food supplements and/or pharma legislation in Africa region.• Interdisciplinary knowledge in the following areas: Quality Standards, registration procedures for ingredients and complementary medicines / health supplements.• Customer orientation with consultative skills – strong aptitude for proactively identifying needs and defining solutions.• Strongly self-motivated; solves business problems and works well with limited supervision.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Able to perform in a fast-paced work environment where constant re-prioritization is required.• Fluent in English, any other language (e.g. French) is a plus.
