Job Title - Sr SQL Server DBA

Duration - Long Term

Work Mode- Hybrid/ WFO (3 days onsite per week)

Work Location- Irving, Tx

Position Summary:

We are looking for a candidate who's experienced working as a Sr. SQL Server DBA to lead multiple infrastructure planning and implementations, from a SQL Server Perspective, including but not limited to, instance strategy, technical platform selection, architecture design, backup and recovery strategy as well as replication options. The Sr. DBA needs to be able to help choose the most efficient and cost-effective solution for the following cloud options: IaaS, DBaaS, or a hybrid architecture.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May perform any or all of the following):

  • 7+ years of SQL Server Administration experience in an enterprise environment with multiple database servers.

  • Experience supporting Logical DBA activities.

  • Experience with SaaS, IaaS and DBaaS.

  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.

  • Experience with incident and problem queue management.

  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.

  • Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory.

  • Experience with scripting.

  • Experience in SSIS, SSRS, T-SQL.

  • Experience with IaaS and DBaaS.

  • Experience complex query tuning and schema refinement.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or engineering or a related field.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships inside and outside the organization

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally, and to maintain harmonious internal and external working relationships.

  • Ability to be on call via cell phone or other department-defined method.

  • Ability to pass a medical physical.

  • Ability to pass a security check.

  • Possess a valid Texas driver's license.

  • Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

    EFFORT

  • Works in an office and/or airport terminal environment.

  • Uses keyboard devices and computer monitors.

  • Uses reasoning abilities in performing analysis and solving problems.

  • Frequently exerts forces equivalent to lifting minimally 50+ pounds Must be able to use ladders and scissor lifts as required from time to time.

  • Communicates effectively by telephone, in writing and in person.

  • Uses near-visual acuity in reading written documents.

  • Drives to locations on Airport property.
