Caterpillar Oil & Gas has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Learning and Development Consultant located in Houston, Texas. We are seeking a talented and experienced individual to develop strategy for training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our employees, dealers, and customers to optimize aftermarket sales. This role will develop strategy for training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our employees, dealers, and customers to optimize aftermarket sales.

Job Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assess business and customer needs, create solutions for development.

  • Evaluate new and existing curriculum/learning solutions, including pilot and experimental programs, and recommending appropriate approaches for scaling or improving development programs for enterprise application.

  • Establishing and maintaining processes for assessing changing business needs internal, dealer and customer training.

  • Provide expertise in developing and delivering training modules, courses, and programs; ensuring that courses and materials are relevant.

  • Measure success of the training programs; take appropriate measures to improve training effectiveness.

  • Analyzing new training methods, tools, and content options to determine the feasibility of use and application in future technical training programs.

  • Consulting business partners on training requirements.

  • Executes accreditation processes for training programs.

  • Customer Focus: Extensive Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

  • Consulting: Extensive Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Effective Communications: Extensive Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Problem Solving: Extensive Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Relationship Management: Extensive Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

  • Training Operations: Extensive Knowledge of training processes and procedures; ability to implement training related tasks and programs to ensure smooth daily and strategic training operations.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Project management, execution, and governance experience.

  • Technical experience (heavy machinery, gensets, construction equipment, etc.).

Additional Information:

  • Relocation is available for this position.

  • The primary location for this position is Houston, TX, but can be located in Dallas, TX, Fort Worth, TX or Peoria, IL or within a 50-mile radius of a US based Caterpillar facility.

  • Up to 25% travel domestically.
