TEKsystems Instructional Designer in Irving, Texas

Job Description:

  • Development of engaging and effective training content with specific focus on graphic design.

  • Work closely with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and other team members to design, develop, and delivery high-quality instructional materials that meet the learning objectives of Caterpillar programs and courses.

  • Apply a creative approach to instructional design which helps enhance the overall learning experience for users.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to analyze learning needs and design effective instructional solutions.

  • Develop instructional materials, including e-learning courses, videos, simulations, and other interactive content.

  • Use instructional design principles to create engaging and interactive learning experiences that promote knowledge retention and skill development.

  • Design assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of learning materials and make improvements as needed.

  • Stay current on instructional design trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve the quality of our learning programs.

  • Work closely with multimedia developers, graphic designers, and other team members to produce high-quality learning materials.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s in design OR certificate in graphic design required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology or related strongly preferred

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in instructional design with graphic design focus required.

  • Master’s or above internship experience will be considered if specifically focused on instructional design only. Other education experience will not be considered.

  • Experience working in a corporate training or educational setting.

  • Proficiency with instructional design tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software.

  • Solid understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models (ex – ADDIE, SAM)

  • Experience with eLearning Authoring

  • Training and teaching skills

  • Computer proficiency including: Knowledge of Photoshop, Microsoft Office software and Dreamweaver

  • Fundamental understanding of HTML

  • Audio and video editing skills

  • Understanding of Adult Learning design, needs analysis, etc.

  • Strong Project Management skills
