Role Summary: Leads analysis of demand developments, the forecasting and planning of production, the control of progress, and the initiation of action when necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning: Lead on design and development of the overall production planning framework and systems in a complex manufacturing business, including dependencies with other processes/units. Develop key strategic insights based on external and internal information sources and develop and analyze product planning scenarios to enable the development of the strategic production planning and control of progress.

  • Business Planning: Develop and gain agreement to annual business plans for a function or substantial business area, ensuring alignment with strategy; quantify business outcomes (i.e. revenues or other key performance indicators); detail expense and headcount budgets; and develop business cases for key projects, ensuring cross-functional integration.

  • Budgeting: Take responsibility for setting and managing area budgets so they align with organizational strategy.

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Make authoritative recommendations that have a significant impact on the business over the short and long term. Recommendations could be technical or professional in nature.

  • Operations Management: Support the overall organizational strategy by developing and delivering operational plans and outcomes for a large portion of the business.

  • Strategic Planning: Take responsibility for developing and delivering the strategic planning approach for a key part of the organization.

  • Leadership and Direction: Communicate the function's strategy and its relationship to the organization's mission, vision and values; clarify the actions needed to implement it within the area of responsibility; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve the organization's business goals.

  • Internal Client Relationship Management: Lead the development of partnering relationships with senior executives throughout the organization, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and ensuring that internal clients have access to high-quality advice and guidance to support in delivering business strategy and plans.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and manage stakeholders up to top management level, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions.

  • Performance Management: Manage and report on the performance of the function / business area; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.

For example, takes steps to coordinate and align plans across workgroups; supports strategic objectives with aggressive yet realistic time frames; shares some critical objectives to help with prioritizing and planning.

Requirements:

  • BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 10+ years relevant experience

  • Experience with SAP

  • Ability to travel up to 50%

  • 10+ years of relevant experience at a global level
