OVHcloud Associate Systems Engineer in Irving, Texas

Job Summary

The Associate Systems Engineer works in a unique and challenging environment.  This team supports the reliability, development, configuration, and deployment of systems that provide OVHcloud core services.

Candidates should be good communicators, naturally curious, inclined to solve problems, and capable of self-starting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain site reliability in a production environment

  • Support and contribute to software development projects

  • Participate in build, deploy, and troubleshooting of microservice software applications

  • User acceptance testing

  • Identify problems or weaknesses in supported systems

  • Define projects, and gather / write acceptance criteria

  • Continuous learning of technologies, both new and old, to maintain ideal system functionality

  • Work with datasets, API, relational databases or even event buses

  • Work effectively and build relationships with teams in non-overlapping time zones

  • Participate in rotating on-call automated monitoring and remediation of production applications

    Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; equivalent years of experience considered in lieu of degree.

  • Experience with scripting and or a static language (Examples: Perl, Python, GoLang, Ruby, Java, C#, Bash).

  • Experience debugging stack traces, logfiles, code changesets desired.

  • Experience or exposure to large scale operations support, and remediation.

  • Experience working with relational DB’s.

  • Experience consuming and supporting RESTful API’s.
