Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for formulation development of next-generation facial filler through synthesis, processing, & characterization of biomaterials.

  • Utilize experience involving medical device & combination products. Utilize mechanical testing equipment such as Rheometer, Texture Analyzer & analytical equipment such as Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) & Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS) to develop & establish Standard Operating Procedures for evaluating formulated biomaterials.

  • Utilize knowledge of polymer synthesis, purification, characterizations, & formulation & process for prototype fillers.

  • Work on process development via using of Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) method for batch synthesis and purification, & support collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop ex vivo & in vivo studies to establish the pre-clinical proof of concept for designed filler prototypes.

  • Work with equipment/lab procedures such as TFF, HPLC & LC-MS analysis, NMR analysis, Spectrophotometry analysis, Rheometer for mechanical characterizations, Texture Analyzer for mechanical testing, Autoclaving, & Aseptic formulation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance biomaterial properties through ex vivo & in vivo studies.

  • Establish non-clinical performance testing of formulation technology by developing benchtop characterization & analytical methods.

  • Assist in formulation development including synthesis, processing, & characterization of new biomaterials for use in next generation medical device & drug delivery formulations.

  • Assist in-house analytical studies setup (HPLC, LC-MS) by undertaking their respective trainings & implementing them to develop methods for detection & evaluation of formulated biomaterials.

  • Serve as EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) Lab Safety Officer.

  • Responsible for monitoring lab safety & compliance to EHS guidelines by performing periodic Lab Safety Audits & organizing Lab Clean-up Days.

  • Work with EHS managers to evaluate lab safety while implementing directives received from EHS Director following Company’s commitment to EHS.

  • Conduct Lab Orientation & Safety training for new members joining the team.

  • EHS & Lab Safety Training Certification required.

Qualifications

Must possess a Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Biomedical Engineering, Biomaterials Science, Materials Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or a highly related field of study with at least 5 years of related progressive experience.

Will accept a Master’s degree in the listed fields of study in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

Each education alternative with at least 1 year of experience in the following:

  • experience involving medical device & combination products;

  • knowledge of polymer synthesis, purification, characterizations, & formulation and process for prototype biomaterials;

  • experience with use of mechanical & analytical characterization equipment & developing lab procedures such as Rheometer for mechanical characterizations, Texture Analyzer for mechanical testing, Autoclaving, Spectrophotometry analysis, & Aseptic formulate

(iv) Must possess EHS & Lab Safety Training Certification.

Salary Range: $125,590 - $134,500 per year.
