Job Summary

Xumo is looking for an experienced Lead UI/UX Designer professional to join the Platform Systems & Services team, which serves as the integral backbone of processes and services supporting Xumo Enterprise and Xumo Play businesses. We manage critical systems, including our Content Management System (CMS), and support key stakeholders across various teams including Content Acquisition, Content Operations, Editorial, and Marketing together with partnership from Product & Engineering. As the Lead UI/UX Designer, you will be responsible for leading the design efforts across our product portfolio, primarily focusing on the Content Management System, ensuring that our core platform tool is intuitive, engaging, and visually stunning. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive the design vision, from concept to execution, and deliver high-quality solutions that create intuitive, user-centric interfaces that delight our users and enhance their overall experience. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded UI/UX Designer who strives to connect the dots between business needs, innovation, and best-in-class design. You sincerely believe that design is more than how something looks, but also how it feels and functions. You enjoy great design debates and thrive on iterating based on customer feedback. Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Specializes in user experience strategy and design, as well as front-end prototyping for web applications and other digital delivery platforms, helping drive the support and future development of various Comcast products and service across multiple platforms.

  • Collaborates on and oversees the experience design across the product portfolio, including content development, user research, user-centered design processes, project leadership and user experience prototyping and development.

  • Illustrates and communicates complex design solutions across uses cases by creating process flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups.

  • Partners with Product and Engineering to identify requirements, use cases, and user journeys, and overall contributes to and guides the product vision.

  • Leads a variety of web and new media projects for the company. Collaborates in special projects for the Company where there are additional needs for new media communication.

  • Oversees efforts to expand and enhance the digital delivery channels of the company, improving the user experience for accessing current and future publications, outreach, research, data, special projects, speeches, education materials, multi-media content and other types of communications that support the mission of the company.

  • Assesses a product's positioning and role within the online organization's sites, products and services. Develops and writes interaction and functional specifications.

  • Reviews competing products and recommends design solutions that differentiate the organization's products from those of competitors.

  • Develops new research and tests theories that lead to alternative, leading-edge design solutions.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology related fields, such as Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Systems, or related Design certification

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Product Design or UX

  • Minimum of five (5) years of comprehensive knowledge and best practices for Interaction Design, Visual/UI Design, Information Architecture, User Experience Research, UX Writing, and Prototyping

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, and drive clarity that brings the user, technology, and business together through rigorous design thinking and human-centered design for evolving problem spaces

  • A deep arsenal of design tools (Figma, InVision, Overflow.io, Sketch, Zeplin)

  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills

  • Experience with modern web development frameworks (e.g. React/ReactJS)

  • Experience working with distributed teams, across multiple time zones

  • Experience in agile development/project methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Media & Entertainment or Technology development companies

  • Experience with Content Management and/or Asset Management Systems

  • Proficiency with Jira or similar product management

Additional Information:

  • Position is office based in Philadelphia, PA or Irvine, CA-- 4 days/week & 1 day remote

  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work for Comcast in the United States without a current or potential future need for sponsorship
