ATI is a global manufacturer of technically advanced specialty materials and complex components. Our products support diverse markets and industries such as aerospace and defense, oil & gas, electrical energy, medical, automotive, and other industrial markets.

ATI is currently seeking a Design Engineer I to join our facility located in Irvine, CA. This position will be responsible for design, modeling, estimation-related work, and support of manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate would thrive in a fast-paced environment where extreme attention to detail is required and expected.

Essential Functions:

  • Read and interpret customer blueprints and specifications

  • Design forging configurations and tooling

  • Run simulations to optimize the forging shapes & forging conditions

  • Work with die manufactures to specify and manufacture tooling

  • Manufacturing operations support

  • Communicate and provide information/documents to other departments

  • Investigate and analyze data to drive accurate root cause and corrective action efforts

  • Perform any assigned special R&D projects

  • Perform inspection of forgings and tooling

  • Support an environment of mutual trust, respect, safety, and high ethical standards

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

  • Familiarity and proficiency with CAD software [AutoCAD and/or Siemens NX12 (Unigraphics) is preferred]

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of experience with FEA Modeling [(SFTC Deform) is preferred]

Essential Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical skills to analyze and resolve difficult problems effectively and implement long term solutions

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

  • Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Salary Range: $69,410 - $110,770/annually
