Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced marketer with strong analytical skills to join a high performing team committed to making a difference for patients in the Eye Care space. The Associate Director, Anterior Segment Marketing will work together with the Head of Marketing US Eye Care, Glaucoma & Anterior Segment along with various brand teams across the Eye Care portfolio to develop and execute strategic and tactical marketing plans. They will manage and lead the oversight of both the Presbyopia and Dry Eye brands within Eye Care. This position requires the individual to foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and cross-functional partners to successfully drive the business in an effective and timely way. The candidate must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization, with high expectations and accountability on quality of deliverables.

The Associate Director US Eye Care, Anterior Segment Portfolio will partner with marketing, sales and broader AbbVie stakeholders (Finance, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, MABI, and Agency) to support different business needs across the various Eye Care portfolio of brands. They will derive findings and implications from multiple data platforms to strengthen commercial understanding of brand performance, marketplace dynamics and growth opportunities. Participate on cross-functional teams and be involved with the development of strategic brand plans as well as support execution efforts of those plans.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Marketing Director(s), Associate Director(s) and Sales leaders to build, manage and execute marketing plans to achieve business objectives and goals including patients’, market and financial results.

  • Drive and participate in business and marketing plans process.

  • Partner with the Marketing Analytics & Business Insights team to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies by understanding insights and formulating recommendations for optimization

  • Work with multiple marketing brand leads to track financial performance and provide senior leadership with updates

  • Participate and collaborate on cross-functional teams for the development of strategic brand plans and effectively influence business leaders to deliver business results through execution of those plans.

  • Develop and review key marketing materials and lead projects through the legal, regulatory, and medical review process. - Coordinate the work of multiple external vendors and internal departments including marketing, market research, legal, regulatory, medical affairs, segment marketing, corporate compliance, consumer marketing and IT.

  • Collaborate with sales training to ensure effective, impactful, best in class training on promotional tools and programs.

  • Develop and deliver executive level updates and presentations on key updates/outputs of workstreams.

  • Conduct routine field travel with the sales force to better understand market drivers and dynamics

  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment in highly competitive market.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline field required; MBA or other advanced degree desired

  • Minimum 5+ years of healthcare sales/marketing experience required

  • 7+ Years of relevant experience in developing, executing, and measuring marketing campaigns for specialty products or significant experience promoting eyecare products preferred

  • Proven marketing experience with increased proficiency in all marketing skills

  • Proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally to drive business results in a heavily matrixed, fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility within sales and marketing
