Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts receivable and accounting, with a particular emphasis on business-to-business collections, account management, and reconciliation. This role will involve independently managing customer accounts, including those utilizing EDI, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments and invoices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform business-to-business collections on open accounts receivable by contacting customers, working with account management and sales teams.

  • Independently manage customer accounts including EDI customers.

  • Access customer portals to retrieve, navigate, research, and dispute transactions.

  • Cash application and reconciliation of all incoming payments received by wire, EFT, check, and credit card.

  • Create month-end Accounts Receivable summaries and reconciliations for assigned customers.

  • Research and resolve deductions and account discrepancies.

  • Issue standard credit memos for contractual agreements.

  • Analyze customer aging for weekly AR meetings.

  • Monitor EDI billing execution and resolve issues identified through account reconciliations.

  • Respond to customer emails and inquiries.

  • Prepare manual invoices as needed for non-EDI customers.

  • Prepare commercial shipping documents for import shipments on open accounts.

  • Maintain continuous process improvement.

  • Complete ad hoc projects as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 + years of Full-cycle AR experience.

  • Big Box Retail experience is highly preferred.

  • Proficiency in Excel, including v-lookups, pivot tables, data analysis etc.

  • Experience with NetSuite preferred, but open to any large ERP system.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is optional but preferred.
