Hourly Maintenance Worker - Streets Streets and Traffic Engineering Division Public Works Department

Wage: $15.00 per hour Full-time seasonal daytime hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm or variable daytime hours up to 25 hours per week

Start and end dates are negotiable within April 1st - December 15th season Seasonal full-time positions are limited to a 5-month duration

Job summary: Under immediate supervision, performs a variety of unskilled manual labor tasks and general street maintenance. May operate tools such as a tamper, asphalt rake and shovel. Loads and unloads materials and equipment. May assist in cement and asphalt patching and crack sealing. Cleans equipment, building and grounds. Operates light motorized equipment as necessary. May assist with the installation of street signage or pavement markings. May assist with debris removal from culverts and bridges. May assist with raking and operation of leaf vacuum equipment for removal of leaves for curbside pickup. Conducts self in a manner which promotes and supports diversity and inclusivity in the workplace and community. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum qualifications: Requires the knowledge of and ability to use common hand and power tools, familiarity with common construction materials and equipment, the ability to follow oral and written instructions, manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform heavy outside work. Valid drivers license with a satisfactory driving record required. Must be 18 years of age.
