Hourly Customer Service Program Job Openings The City of Iowa City Recreation division is accepting applications for positions within the Customer Service Program. Hourly Customer Service Program staff assignments may include the following: Customer Service Attendant 15.00 per hour Definition of Work: Helps promote lifelong health and wellness while serving the public as an Hourly Customer Service Attendant with Iowa City Parks and Recreation. The person in this position provides information and customer service to the general public groups and individuals. Duties include but are not limited to: greet and check in all patrons who enter the facility, answer the phone and direct calls, reply to emails, enforce facility policies, rules and regulations, and register patrons for activities, meeting rooms and park shelters. Maintain a clean and neat appearance of the facility, perform routine cleaning tasks, conduct facility safety checks, attend to the needs of rental groups and birthday parties, complete incident and accident reports, resolve patron complaints and supervise patrons in a large recreation center. Conducts self in a manner which promotes and supports diversity and inclusivity in the workplace and community. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to perform various office duties including typing, filing, answering phones, replying to emails, working with our registration software and other tasks as assigned. Ability to manage and supervise facility activities and users; effectively communicate general information and enforce policies and procedures is essential. This position may require work at both Robert A. Lee Community Recreation Center and/ or Mercer Park Aquatic Center/ Scanlon Gymnasium so applicants must have the ability to transport themselves to these facilities. Must be pleasant yet firm with the public when enforcing policy. Hiring is contingent on passing a criminal background check to protect the interests of Recreation Center patrons. Must obtain CPR/ First-Aid/ AED certification within six months of hire. Shifts available within hours of operation: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00am 12:00pm, Fridays, 1:00pm 9:00pm Weekend Facility Supervisor 16.00 per hour Definition of Work: Employee performs a variety of duties to ensure all patrons have a positive experience utilizing recreational facility for open play, special events and reservation. The person in this position ensures that weekend operation of the facilities run smoothly and takes the lead in handling issues as they arise. Duties include but are not limited to: greet and check in all patrons who enter the facility, answer the phone and direct calls, reply to emails, enforce facility policies, rules and regulations, and register patrons for activities, meeting rooms and park shelters.
