Stoltzfus Meats, Inc Bakery Assistant Manager in Intercourse, Pennsylvania

Stoltzfus Meats makes and sells fine, fresh, home-style foods. We have an opening for a FT Bakery Assistant Manager who will oversee the daily production in the bakery department in the Center Street store location. This includes participating in bakery operations, enforcing cleanliness and safety, and working closely with the Bakery Manager and Store Manager.

Stoltzfus Meats maintains a drug-free workplace, and conducts pre-employment drug screening (including marijuana) for all team members.

Qualifications:

  • Age 18+
  • Speak, read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to stand, walk, and twist for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • At least 1 year of commercial bakery production facility experience required
  • At least 6 months of supervisory/management experience required
  • Certification or advanced schooling in pastry arts, culinary arts, or a related field preferred
  • ServSafe certification or ability to earn within 6 months of employment required
  • Environment contains potential allergens including wheat, tree nuts, eggs, and milk

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with managing the daily operations at the bakery of the Center Street location
  • Participate in completing daily production runs, focusing on mixing from scratch, baking, troubleshooting, and storage/packaging
  • Use, clean, troubleshoot, and train others on all equipment including commercial mixers, ovens, proofer, and cookie depositor
  • Ensure recipes and portion control are being followed to produce quality baked goods that meet expectations
  • Oversee the retail display area for bakery items, including correct packaging, stocking products, and maintaining appealing displays
  • Enforce cleanliness of the bakery facilities, including personal hygiene, equipment cleaning, and work areas/countertop spaces
  • Oversee inventory of baking supplies, including ingredients, other products, and packaging materials, to report to Bakery Manager for ordering
  • Provide feedback on the costing and pricing of products
  • Communicate equipment needs, repairs, and other facility concerns to the Bakery Manager and Store Manager
  • Collaborate with the Bakery Manager to create efficiencies, discuss concerns, and evaluate new ideas
  • Cross train with customer service and cashiering when needed
  • Attend the Center Street leadership meetings
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies; contribute to a safe working environment for all team members
  • Other duties as assigned

Schedule & Benefits:

  • Full Time is an average of 40-45 hours/week
  • Tentative schedule is 5 days per week; shifts are typically 6 am - 3 pm, with start times as early as 4 am when needed
  • Saturday shifts are required
  • Additional overtime is available/required during high production times of year, typically around holidays
  • The Center Street store operates Monday - Friday from 6 am - 6 pm, and Saturday from 6 am - 5 pm
  • No late nights and no Sundays!
