FFP Material Handler in Indianapolis, Indiana

JOB SUMMARY: The Material Handler is responsible for moving and organizing materials within the warehouse. They will receive, store, and distribute materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring that materials are safely handled. The Material Handler will also be responsible for conducting regular cycle counts and assisting with inventory management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive incoming materials and compare them to purchase orders and packing lists for accuracy

  • Inspect materials for any damage and report any issues to the supervisor

  • Properly store materials in designated locations in the warehouse

  • Pick and pack materials for outgoing orders, ensuring that they are accurately counted and properly packaged

  • Load and unload materials onto trucks using forklifts or other warehouse equipment

  • Perform regular cycle counts and reconciling any discrepancies

  • Assist with inventory management by updating inventory records and conducting inventory audits

  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of materials

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and quality standards, complying with Food Safety guidelines procedures, rules and regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

  • Operates computer to access, enter and correct information

  • Picks and palletizes customer PO's

  • Follow GMP's and food safety procedures in order to produce safe in process products

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role

  • Valid standup forklift certification

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of inventory management practices
