Description
The Humana Foundation Evaluation Data Analysis Professional 2 solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

This role supports the Foundation's learning and evaluation efforts and works with the programs team to develop evaluative approaches for their work. Additionally, in collaboration with the leadership team, this role develops, coordinates and oversees research initiatives (i.e., environmental scans, literature reviews, community dashboards, social determinants research) and helps in writing up the research efforts of the Foundation. The role works on problems of moderately complex to developing analysis/in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
This role with limited guidance is responsible for moderately complex work ensuring the Foundation's programmatic focus areas and geographic communities are analyzed and changes in social determinants of health are tracked. Additionally, this role will help instill organizational efficiency as the Foundation pursues Social Determinants of Health solutions that positively impact its focus areas. Additionally, this role will develop presentations and communications for the programs team.
Responsibilities include
Evaluates the impact of the Foundation's investments and develops strategic community change efforts
Supports in developing Board meeting board decks and presentation narratives
Integrates and aligns Foundation activities and initiatives to ensure synergies across regions and priority areas.
Supports a center of excellence and learning, and is proactive and quick to mobilize around issues important to the Foundation.
Maintains a high level of knowledge on issues and regulations associated with social determinants and charitable giving in the particular areas of focus (i.e. food security, social connectedness, financial asset security, postsecondary success)
Maintains database of systematic literature reviews and other analytic frameworks
Provide technical assistance for building a learning community among grantees
Develops and continues management of social network analysis
Helps leadership ensure Foundation priorities are in alignment with its strategies.
Role Essentials
Bachelor's degree
3 or more years of data analysis and/or research analysis experience
Must have experience with one of the following softwares: PowerBI, Excel, SAS, SPSS or ArcGIS
Experience reading and pulling census level data
Qualitative and quantitative data analysis experience
Experience partnering with cross-functional teams
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills with sharp attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and team skills with experience in building relationships
Self-motivated and prepared to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously
Collaborative in completing assignments, executing projects and interacting with the team
Role Desirables
Post-graduate degree desirable (Health Services Administration, Public Health/Policy)
Experience in a foundation/nonprofit or organizational setting with relevance to the Foundation's mission, along with evidence of increasing responsibilities and achievements
