Heritage Environmental Services, LLC Environmental Customer Coordinator in Indianapolis, Indiana

Indianapolis, IN, USA | Hourly | Customer Service | Full Time

Primary Purpose: Service customer accounts using the following responsibilities and functions.

Essential Functions and Requirements:

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processed and acting in a safe manner at all times.

  • Requires regulatory understanding of generator requirements.

  • Handles customer inquiries and questions regarding company services, cost of services, and proper completion of required paperwork.

  • Builds sustainable relationships and trust with customers through routine communication to ensure service satisfaction.

  • Reviews, revises, and completes waste profile forms, including but not limited to reviewing SDS's and selecting proper RCRA Hazardous Waste Codes. Submits wastestream approval to appropriate approval department.

  • Develop rudimentary chemical knowledge as it pertains to various waste types within the industry and the available disposal options.

  • Ability to use a variety of tools provided to conduct research and work cross functionally to solve problems.

  • Coordinate with cross functional teams to assign workflow to the correct departments.

  • Follows up on pending and new approvals to schedule as soon as possible.

  • Reviews, prints and sends new quotes to customer. Requests and files a signed copy of the quotation.

  • Submits samples with required documentation for testing as needed for waste approval.

  • May review billing information for accuracy prior to finalization. Resolves any billing discrepancies.

  • Maintain thorough and updated customer records.

  • Provide and or develop innovative solutions.

  • Understands when to elevate issues.

  • Accountable for inside sales to increase revenue in assigned territory(ies) by working closely alongside sales counterpart.

  • May secure disposal outlets for customer waste that will be managed directly to third party sites, including approvals, pricing, and logistics.

  • Does profit and cost analysis on new and current business, ensures that most profitable disposal method is being used. Work on increasing margin dollars.

  • May be required to service customers until 5:00 pm Mountain and Pacific Time.

  • Takes waste orders from customers. May complete and mail appropriate shipping paperwork, manifest, labels, etc.

  • Facilitates customer tours of Heritage facilities as requested.

  • Handles non-conforming waste situations in a timely manner, including manifest discrepancies.

  • All other duties and tasks as assigned by management.

  • A minimal amount of travel may be required, including yearly travel to territory. Up to 10%.

Education: 4-year degree required. Environmental Science or Science major preferred. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an Associate's Degree plus 2 years of relevant experience, including but not limited to environmental, manufacturing, industrial or customer service sectors will be considered.

Experience: External: 2 years of relevant experience required, including but not limited to environmental, manufacturing, industrial or customer service sectors.

Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, including phone contact handling skills and be an active listener. Strong decision-making skills, writing skills, time management/organizational, and multi-tasking skills. Execute patience under pressure, stay polite even in stressful situations. Strong working knowledge of computers. Self-directed with the ability to work on multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines. Basic knowledge of DOT and RCRA Regulations and terms preferred. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
