[[Independently develop and review the creation of bridge and structural engineering designs which meet customer quality requirements, including defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status. Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses. Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.

[[Employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Emphasis or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in an Engineer-related occupation.Professional Engineer's License required.

  1. Bridge design and highway infrastructure experience, including design-build or alternative project delivery.
  2. Bridge-specific computer programs, including Microstation, LEAP CONSPAN, LEAP RC-Pier, Merlin-DASH, MDX, STAAD and L-Pile.
  3. Preparation of bridge design calculations and creation of detail sketches based upon AASHTO LRFD, ASD, and LFD, related to steel and concrete beam design, concrete bridge deck design, and bridge substructure design.
  4. Preparation of engineering material related to bridge elements including unique bridge construction specifications, calculations, detail sketches, plan sheets, material quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, bridge inspection and scoping reports, supplier drawing reviews, detailed requisitions for equipment and materials
  5. Use of D.O.T. bridge construction specifications.
  6. Design of maintenance of traffic and roadside safety features associated with bridge projects.
  7. Formal presentation of technical material to clients and external contacts.
  8. Manage and develop schedule, and track project progress and preparation of contract documents.
