Description:

Design (UX) Project Manager

Our client is looking for a rock star Design PM to drive the timely delivery of best-in-class user experience for our Digital Direct channels on a global scale, specifically supporting new product launches that go live. The role wears many hats and requires working closely with program managers, engineering, design, content, operations, and marketing. The successful candidate will be great at project management – proactively planning for & driving projects, mitigating risks, measuring and reporting on progress, anticipating and resolving bottlenecks, providing escalation management, and own successful delivery of projects by working effectively across the organization. We are looking for someone who is highly analytical with strong organization and communication skills. Experience working closely with UX & creative teams is a must.

Core responsibilities:

• Create and maintain project schedules, and ensure teams are on track with their deliverables.

• Own metrics and reporting, including project throughput and capacity management.

• Attention to excellence: work within current PM processes and own the PM deliverables for each project. Partner with PMO team when process improvements are identified.

• Run daily standups, kick-offs, and creative reviews

• Manage sprint planning & reviews, and retrospectives.

• Facilitate collaborative and effective communication between team members. Accurately communicate with appropriate specificity, context, and needed actions.

Build relationships across different audiences and communicate with each audience effectively.

• Ensure that collaborators and stakeholders understand and complete necessary actions prior to and after meetings, and that required attendees can attend.

• Proactively drive, guide, and track complex projects with multiple moving parts and timelines—flag and adjust as risks arise.

• Keep teams aware of milestone deliverables and goals through all phases of the project.

• Special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a project manager, program manager, or equivalent within a design team driving UX projects.

• Experience managing UX projects, ideally for E-Commerce.

• Experience with Agile project management, including running daily standups, managing sprint planning & reviews, and retrospectives.

• Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple competing deliverables.

• Critical thinking – ability to make informed, concise, and influential decisions with minimum guidance needed.

• Leadership mindset with proven ability to efficiently run stand-ups, kick-offs, and creative reviews so attendees understand objectives, stay on topic, know their action items.

• Best in class organizational skills – able to provide quick, easy, intuitive access to all documents and deliverables.

• Self-starter that can operate efficiently within ambiguous situations.

• History of successful conflict resolution and experience facilitating trade-off discussions.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Working knowledge of creative design tools

• Strong skills in Excel, project tracking tools such as ADO, Smartsheet among others.

• Strong PowerPoint skills for reporting & building presentations.
