System One Battery field Service Technician - Traveling in Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Description: Field Service Technician - Battery Energy Storage Systems

This is a 3 month project located in Petersburg, IN. Once this project is complete, you will have the opportunity to travel to other projects. Per Diem is $50/day and hotel and mileage are covered. Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Commissioning: Install and commission battery energy storage systems and related products, ensuring proper functionality and performance.

  • Firmware Configuration: Install and configure control-related firmware to enable effective communication and control of the battery systems.

  • Commissioning Support: Conduct 'cold' commissioning (electrical checks using auxiliary power) and 'hot' commissioning (energized electrical checks) of battery systems. Address and resolve performance issues, including cell and module charging/balancing.

  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance for fault isolation and troubleshooting throughout all phases of the commissioning process.

  • Customer Interaction: Communicate directly with customers on all aspects of project execution, including accurate and timely daily reporting.

  • Warranty Support: Manage the return and repair of defective parts to support warranty claims.

  • On-Site Commitment: Travel to and remain at assigned job sites until tasks are completed.

  • Tool Management: Manage field tools and equipment for various assignments and projects.

  • Operational Excellence: Ensure high standards of operational performance in all areas of responsibility.

    Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma with some college coursework.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as an electrical technician in the electrical power or energy sector, including necessary safety certifications.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer systems, including the installation of controls-related firmware and software.

  • Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.

  • Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with strong coordination and collaboration skills.

  • Adaptability: Quick learner, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on attention to detail.

  • Leadership and Accountability: Demonstrated leadership qualities with a commitment to integrity, accountability, and delivering on commitments.

  • Willingness to Travel: Flexibility to travel extensively and work closely with customers.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in a technical field or Computer Science/Engineering.

  • Data Management: Experience in managing, analyzing, and interpreting data.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with battery standards, regulations, and safety procedures.

  • Project Management: Proven track record in managing projects and teams, meeting program goals while adhering to quality, performance, schedule, and cost requirements.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong customer-focused problem-solving skills.

    Travel & Location:

  • Preferred Locations: California, Texas, New York, and Massachusetts. Other locations will be considered.

  • Travel Requirement: Must be willing to travel 75% or more to customer sites.
