As a Crisis Response Clinician, you'll be the primary point of contact in coordinating services for individuals with behavioral health needs who have come to the attention of law enforcement officials. You'll ensure these individuals have the opportunity to access recommended treatment services and assist in the process as needed. Our ideal candidate is passionate about crisis intervention, has experience working with law enforcement, and strong clinical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with local police departments, co-located for timely response

  • Complete screenings, crisis assessments/interventions, and other clinical services in the community

  • Assist law enforcement and courts in locating inpatient psychiatric beds and filing involuntary detention petitions

  • Act as a primary point of contact, participating in law enforcement Crisis Intervention Teams or similar initiatives

  • Coordinate services and develop local systems of care for individuals who have come to law enforcement's attention

  • Complete crisis assessment and/or intake assessments at jail facilities as requested

  • Ensure individuals can access recommended treatment services and assist as needed

  • Provide brief therapeutic interventions to promote stabilization and assign follow-up services when appropriate

  • Report appropriate information to assigned service providers for individuals already in services

  • Provide training and consultation on behavioral health issues for law enforcement officers and agencies

  • Coordinate and collaborate with local partners in Mental Health Courts or other specialty/diversion courts

  • Maintain good communication with agency service areas, referral sources, and emergency systems

  • Provide brief clinical interventions to law enforcement officers and refer them to appropriate resources as needed

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field

  • Minimum of one-year experience working in the behavioral health field

  • Experience working with law enforcement is preferred

  • Valid driver's license & auto insurance

  • Ability to interact and work within the police environment and culture
