Health Advocates Network is seeking a Special Education Teacher to work at a Facility in Imperial Beach, CA. This is a registry position with our company.

Pay Rate: $60 / hour

Shifts Details:

  • 8am-3:30pm

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher with experience working with moderate to severe special needs students. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities. Your primary goal will be to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic and personal growth for all students.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with moderate to severe disabilities.

  2. Provide direct instruction to students in various subjects, adapting teaching methods and materials to suit individual needs.

  3. Utilize a variety of instructional techniques, including visual aids, assistive technology, and multisensory approaches, to enhance student learning.

  4. Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.

  5. Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to develop and implement effective strategies for student success.

  6. Monitor and track student behavior and provide behavior management interventions as needed.

  7. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, acceptance, and collaboration among students.

  8. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, goals, and strategies for support.

  9. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and parent-teacher conferences.

  10. Stay up-to-date with current research, best practices, and legal requirements in special education.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.

  2. Valid California Teaching Credential in Special Education.

  3. Demonstrated experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities. TC3S/R3MS/MS

  4. Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.

  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

  6. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.

  7. Ability to adapt instructional strategies and materials to suit individual student needs.

  8. Proficiency in using assistive technology and other tools to support student learning.

  9. Strong organizational and time management skills.

  10. Ability to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
