We are currently hiring a Youth Engagement Specialist , to work in our Herkimer Agency. As the Youth Engagement Specialist , you would be responsible for:

  • Develop and facilitate the Herkimer County System of Care Youth Advisory Council

  • Ensure youth driven activities for 0-21 occur within Herkimer County to increase engagement in the Herkimer System of Care initiative

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with other youth-serving organizations and agencies, and medical and behavioral health providers for referral and networking purposes.

  • Collaborate with Herkimer System of Care marketing partners to raise awareness of and provide information regarding our initiative across Herkimer County.

  • Manage multiple youth projects at once, including arranging visits, contacting and coordinating with involved adults, traveling to meet 1:1 with youth, as well as starting and closing projects in quick succession

  • Plan, implement and oversee the Herkimer County Youth Summit in conjunction with the Drug Free Communities Coordinator.

  • Develop and disseminate tools and resources for child and family serving professionals that highlight the importance of involving youth at risk of, or with, SED in system-processes

  • Use social media to support youth engagement

    Youth Engagement Specialist Minimum Salary: $ 17.00/hour

    Youth Engagement Specialist Maximum Salary: $ 19.00/hour

    Youth Engagement Specialist Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, 35 hours per week

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Services or related field

  • Associates degree considered with experience
