IFF Ypres is a food company located in the canal zone in Ypres that produces protein isolates and is part of the listed company IFF (www.IFF.com). The protein isolate is used in soy milk, sports drinks, shakes, baby food, ice creams, meat substitutes and pet food.

Producing protein isolates, mainly from soy, is a high-tech and exciting process. We are proud of our specialist knowledge.

Currently, we are looking for a Process Engineer to strengthen our engineering team

As an expert, you support the manufacturing technology leader and you work together with other departments in order to research, formulate & implement improvements in production. You know that continuous improvement is the measure of success, along with successfully implementing new processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Y ou map the budget and technical scope of projects in order to provide the full project scope for project approval. You implement approved projects through close cooperation with the various departments, including the project engineering, production, maintenance, quality, etc. department, etc.

  • You continuously monitor the production processes and make adjustments by formulating parameters as well as by troubleshooting on the shop floor in order to be able to advice operations colleagues so that the intended production - output and product quality can be achieved.

  • You analyze production – performance – parameters in order to identify bottlenecks and formulate effective improvement proposals.

  • You act as an expert in technology and sustainability in order to make your knowledge and expertise available to various stakeholders within the organization. You ensure that your knowledge remains up-to-date in line with the needs of the expert role and organization.

  • You are the element leader of the technology package, one of the building blocks of Process Safety Management that serves as the basis for conducting a process risk analysis study.

  • Collaboration, communication and networking are key to the role.

  • You have a degree in bio-engineering, industrial sciences engineering or civil engineering ideally with 5 years working experience in the process industry.

  • You are very interested in technique, sustainability, energy and willing to keep your knowledge up to date in view of new developments.

  • You are very analytical and can process data fluently.

  • Agile and flexible nature.

  • Able to organize own objectives within one year and work accordingly.

  • In a matrix organization, you work very independently, but you continuously align your actions with the site's goals and other functions.

  • As a proactive worker you consider continuous improvement to be the essence of your role.
