Description

Purpose of Position:

The Receiving Manager is responsible for second level supervision of Receiving Associates, ensuring that all associates and leads are actively performing to the best of their abilities. Ensure associates are following verbal and written instructions/policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, motivate, train, and develop all Receiving Associates and Receiving Leads

  • Monitor and provide follow-up training for employees that need improvement in any aspect of the job

  • Manage employee attendance, holding employees accountable

  • Maintain accurate tracking and reporting to management

  • Ensure company and department policies are followed

  • Manage workload distributing it appropriately

  • Provide support and teamwork with other departments as needed

  • Accurately receive all inbound product in assigned work area using an RF device

  • Unload trailers manually and/or with provided equipment

  • Sort and count product to verify quantities match the packing list

  • Organize and manage paperwork for each order processed

  • Problem resolution

  • Re-counting and cycle counts as needed

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

  • All other duties as assigned

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and HighJump

  • Ability to use RF devices

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English

  • Basic math skills

  • Physical ability to repetitively lift 50lbs on a regular basis

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities

  • Ability to lead and motivate others

  • Detail-oriented

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

  • A minimum of 2 years Receiving experience preferred

None.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position manages the Receiving team.

  • This position is considered very active and involves walking or standing for long periods of time

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and stoop/kneel to handle computer and warehouse equipment

  • The employee may be required to lift up to 50 pounds at any given time. The employee may be required to constantly lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity at 20 inches or less due to computer and RF device work

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will experience a loud noise level (i.e. forklifts, semi-trucks, pallet jacks, conveyor belts, moving boxes, etc.). The work environment is loud and dusty at times, and the indoor temperature fluctuates by season

  • The employee will operate and/or work near motorized handling equipment such as forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, electric pallet jacks, conveyor controls, pallet turn tables, elevated dock doors, etc.
