The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting temporary boat inspectors located in Island Park, ID.

Housing is provided.

Example of Duties:

This job is part of the agency’s statewide invasive species prevention program. This position will serve as a member of a watercraft inspection team stationed at the Island Park inspection station in Island Park, Idaho.

These positions inspect watercraft to prevent the spread of zebra/quagga mussels and other Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) from infested states. The position will use an established protocol to inspect watercraft and conduct hotwashes on high-risk conveyances; conducting quality control activities at watercraft inspection stations; setting up and taking down portable traffic signs on daily basis; and properly entering detailed watercraft data on an electronic inspection form.

Housing is available by ISDA, including 2 trailers with en suite. Transportation will be provided from St. Anthony to the inspection site.

Requirements: The successful applicant must be able to fulfill the following duties:

· Good communication skills

· Ability to pay attention to detail when conducting watercraft inspections

· Work in various types of weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.)

· Ability to lift 50 lbs. with or without a reasonable accommodation

· Ability to bend and crawl underneath watercraft, when necessary and with or without a reasonable accommodation

· Possibility of working evenings, weekends, or long hours

· May have to use your own reliable transportation to go between job sites

· Valid driver’s license

· Must be 18 years of age or older

Desired Qualifications

· Aquatic biology, ecology or field inspection experience

· Experience with pressure washers
