NRIC Project Execution and Delivery Manager

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a NRIC Project Execution and Delivery Manager to work in our Demonstration Infrastructure and Support Partnerships department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Research Education Campus facility with every other Friday off. Hybrid work opportunities may be available for this position.

The National Reactor Innovation Center (NRIC) Project Execution and Delivery Manager ensures that all programs in NRIC’s portfolio are established following partner requirements, applicable DOE guidelines and orders, and industry best practices. These efforts will provide a standard approach within NRIC for the coordination and management of multiple projects, their delivery, and their execution beginning with an up-front planning effort during a program's or project's definition phase to ensure that the portfolio is appropriately established for successful execution and concludes at closeout with clear visibility to actual performance relative to an original (baseline) cost and schedule targets. You will provide ownership of a portfolio of projects to ensure that, throughout the execution phase, they are managed and accomplished following funding, budgets, scope, schedule, and deliverables.

Responsibilities Include:

A primary function of this position is to provide senior level oversight, guidance, and mentorship to NRIC technical program managers and project managers. You will interface with INL Program Managers, National Laboratory Subject Matter Experts, and Industry experts in planning, execution and management. Responsibilities include management of technical and administrative work scope. Provide overall program management, planning, and financial controls and technical support for these programs. This includes: supporting the development, and monitoring of scope, schedule, budget, cost, trend, and estimate-to-complete; prepare cost estimates and funding requests; ensure costs and commitments do not exceed approved funding ceilings; prepare or oversee monthly performance reporting and project accomplishments. Provide oversight to multiple projects and tasks for related programs. Help ensure integration between a portfolio of projects and the supporting efforts. Ensure requirements are established early in the process and that configuration management principles are followed as well as verification of requirements being met. Ensure adequate management of risks.

You will have extensive experience in project management and controls delivering first of a kind advanced reactor programs. This should include experience supporting teams of engineering, procurement, construction, quality, safety, and other industry professionals throughout all stages of the project life cycle. Additionally, you will have experience tailoring the application of project management and controls processes, and best practices based on unique project or partner requirements. The Project Execution and Delivery Manager will be required to consistently, and work both independently and collaboratively as they provide programmatic support of the NRIC portfolio.

  • PR0500: Bachelors and 12 years experience, Advanced Degree and 8 years experience.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
