Boeing Korea is looking for a Translator/Interpreter based out of Icheon, South Korea to perform business operations activities to support enterprise services on behalf of the Boeing Korea office and other sites across Korea.

Position Responsibilities:

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide interpretation (spoken) and translation (document) services, which may be in-person or virtual.

  • Prioritize interpretation and translation service requests under the guidance of Program Management.

  • Join weekly meetings for CH-47 to report out on priorities, help needed.

  • Perform other tasks as requested by the CH-47 Program Leadership.

  • Responsible for day to day written translation and verbal interpretation support for PBL, BOA, and campaigns.

  • Provide Aircraft Technical translation as needed for the Field Service Representative (FSR) and the Logistics Service Representative (LSR).

  • Communicate back to the Program Leadership in the U.S.

  • The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at the CH-47 PBL Warehouse in Icheon, Korea.

  • Collaborates with company organizations to identify and resolve system issues.

  • Prepares required company reports.

  • Must be able to work with other employees and drive effective solution to everyday problems with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly to government customers, Field Operations personnel and multiple management / chain-of-command levels.

  • Must be willing and able (on potentially short-notice) to travel to another location to support customer meetings.

  • Must be willing and able to travel to the US to support Program meetings as required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Native-level written and oral communication skills in Korean and business-level written and oral communication skills in English.

  • 5-7 or more years of interpretation-translation experience at a multinational company.

  • Interest in the commercial aviation, defense and science/technology industries.

  • Ability to prioritize, and apply appropriate judgment to change priorities as needed.

  • Ability to manage stakeholders involved with interpretation and translation assignments.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Hancom Office (Hanword, Hancell, Hanshow)

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, especially Excel to create spreadsheets in a business environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience at a Western multinational company in an English-speaking environment.

  • Critical thinking and ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • Ability to use TRADOS document translation software.

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

  • Prior military and/or aviation field experience preferred.

  • May need to be flexible in order to support customer if needed outside of normal working hours.

  • Flexible and open mindset with an ability to perform in a dynamic international environment with a shifting work statement and priorities. A willingness and desire to take on new tasks that may be outside normal daily operations.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships based on trust and mutual respect.

This is for an international, locally hired position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not on Boeing US-based payroll.
