Amazon Tax Analyst I - SALT Direct, Tax in Hyderabad, India

Description

Amazon is seeking a Tax Analyst I – State and Local Tax candidate to join the Tax Team in India. The Amazon Tax Department is a fast-paced, team-focused, and dynamic environment. This position will be responsible for preparing US state income tax filings, as well as other tax projects.

Key job responsibilities

State and Local Tax Responsibilities:

· Prepare and review US state and local income tax returns, including state modification calculations, multi-state allocation and apportionment calculations, calculation and documentation of state credits

· Participate in the estimated tax payment process

· Development of spreadsheet models to forecast consequences of tax planning strategies, corporate M&A transactions, pending legislation and new business initiatives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

· Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required

· Minimum 3+ years multistate tax experience in Public Accounting or industry

· Prior experience using Corptax Advanced features

· Prior experience using Excel Advanced Formulae and features

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Technically proficient with strong accounting, analytical, financial modeling and research skills

· Excellent multistate income and franchise compliance and reporting experience

· Return review and Project management experiences

· Organization skills and excellent attention to detail

· Adaptable to work in dynamic environment as a team member

· Self-starter with ability to prioritize tasks and independently define, implement, and manage creation of new processes

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

  • Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department

  • Experience with Corptax tax return and provision preparation or equivalent software
