Job Description

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, VAVE / Cost Out, will lead and handle the cost-out initiatives across the divisions. The role focuses on delivering $10M - $12M in cost savings within a calendar year while building a pipeline of $12M - $16M in active projects for the following year. The incumbent will develop and implement cost-out strategies to meet and exceed financial targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution:

Comprehensive cost-out strategies for both short-term and long-term objectives.

Align cost-out initiatives with overall business goals and financial targets.

Project Management:

Lead and supervise multiple cost-out projects across the two business units.

Ensure timely execution and delivery of cost savings initiatives.

Build and maintain a robust pipeline of active cost-out projects.

Financial Management:

Supervise and report on cost savings and pipeline progress.

Analyze financial data to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

Work closely with finance teams to validate savings and track performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and other relevant departments to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.

Facilitate cross-functional team meetings and workshops to drive cost-out initiatives.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction.

Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies to drive efficiencies.

Reporting and Communication:

Provide regular updates to senior leadership on cost-out progress and financial impact.

Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations on cost-out strategies and outcomes.

Team Leadership:

Built a high performing team.

Coach, mentor and built the competency that is vital.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and cost consciousness within the division.

Innovation and R&D:

Invest in research and development to explore new materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes that can lead to significant cost reductions.

Collaborate with R&D to integrate cost-out considerations into the product development lifecycle.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in cost management, product development, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings in a manufacturing or product development environment.

Strong understanding of cost analysis, financial modeling, and project management.

Expertise with Lean, Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong leadership and team management abilities!

Effective communication and interpersonal skills!

Ability to work collaboratively across functions and influence key stakeholders.
