Microsoft 365 mobile app solves for user’s content-based productivity needs allowing them to get to, capture and create content quickly and delightfully on mobile. In addition to Word, Excel and PowePoint, the focus is very much on mobile content such as Images, PDFs, Voice recordings, and Video, and the workflows around them such as Capture and Create. Microsoft 365 mobile will play a pivotal role in surfacing to the end-user Microsoft’s advances in AI over the last year such as Copilot and AI powered chat to empower mobile content productivity workflows in a delightful way.

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Designer with a proven track record for creating usable, seamless, elegant and impactful design solutions, deeply rooted in customer needs. The person in this role will contribute hands-on. Responsibilities

  • Forge strong partnerships and allyship through collaboration with all wings of the product team such as design, product management, and engineering – collaborating to plan the forward looking vision and sweating the details on the road to shipping with a high experience bar.

  • Build and pitch concepts through prototypes and presentations to communicate product vision and get stakeholder feedback and funding.

  • Create well-crafted experiences and translate them into high quality design spec that helps engineering convert vision into reality and ship a consumer grade experience.

  • Champion consumer grade experiences, take pride in craftsmanship and be an example across the design and product team.

  • Maintain and improve Microsoft 365 mobile design system that enables different design teams to work together more efficiently.

  • Partner closely with multiple design teams across geos to make sure functionality and workflows across the app are seamless

  • Mentor junior designers in the team and help them develop their skills to keep pushing the bar higher for consumer grade experiences

Qualifications

  • A strong portfolio showcasing your proficiency in translating research insights into great product experiences, reflecting the synthesis of good visual and interaction design principles. It serves to demonstrate your experience and as an example of your ability to create a compelling design presentation - indicative of problem solving, creative thinking and the delivery of solid end to end scenarios

  • Professional experience : 8+ years of experience shipping digital products in a product/software environment

  • User centricity : User-centric approach to design and an ability to interpret and draw out user insights from different data sources, and create experiences that solve for them.

  • Simplicity in ambiguity : You thrive in ambiguous environments and move forward by building consensus, proposing simple solutions to complex workflow issues.

  • Collaboration : Ability to collaborate and build allyship with product management and engineering to ensure consumer grade shipping experiences.

  • Excellent storytelling skills to generate empathy, craft a vision, design for impact, using written and verbal communication, presentation, and organizational skills

  • Visual design skill : Demonstrated visual design skill and examples of consumer grade work. Skilled at building and shipping consumer grade pixel perfect workflows, prototypes and concept pitches in the form of presentations and videos.

  • Expertise in design tools: Figma, AfterEffects, Illustrator, PowerPoint

  • Expertise in prototyping toos: Figma, Protopie

  • Education: A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in product design, HCI, interaction design, industrial design, communication design, architechture or equivalent experience
