Are you passionate about creating mobile magic? Do you love blending code, creativity, and cloud tech? As a Microsoft Mobile Engineer, you’ll build mobile-first solutions that empower millions of users worldwide.

We’re looking for highly motivated engineers with an interest and/or background in mobile platforms (iOS and Android) to help us build reusable controls. We are looking for engineers with a passion for design, coding and building mobile apps, customer focused and emphasized on engineering fundamentals. This role provides a unique opportunity to build for and directly impact multiple products simultaneously.

Join our dynamic Experiences team! In the Experiences team, we will develop compelling user experiences and applications. We work to build a fast, modern, mobile-first experience for our users and use AI-assisted contextual way to quickly organize content. In the team we contribute to multiple apps like OneDrive and Lists, they have 30 million monthly active users. In addition, we are working to provide consistent share experience for photos, videos, files and other content across all Microsoft 365 Mobile apps for both Android and iOS platforms. The problems we are solving range from deep architectural improvements to building delightful user experiences powered by AI/ML and using the latest technologies. We work at a massive scale and use the best-in-class infrastructure that boosts developer productivity and engineering velocity.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Your role as a Senior Software Engineer will be to help making trade-offs, advocate engineering excellence, design, build, and support application development for Android and iOS.

  • Help making technology choices for the product and make appropriate trade-offs.

  • Dealing with ambiguity and bring clarity on the feasibility and provide design options for complex problems.

  • Act as tech lead and drive a feature crew of 2 to 3 folks and contribute to code and design reviews.

  • Make design decisions to deliver a fast, secure, and usable application. Being data driven to keep the quality of the product high.

  • Engineer features with strong attention to performance, robustness, resource usage and writing high quality code.

  • Contribute to discussions with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, design team) to determine user requirements for project.

  • Working with partner teams independently and rationalize the design trade-offs.

Qualifications

Required Qualification :

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related technical discipline.

  • 5-8 years of software engineering experience.

  • 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, Android (Kotlin, Java, Jet pack compose and C++) or iOS (Swift, Objective C, Swift UI, iOS UI Kit, C++) and knowledge of end-to-end software development life cycle for Android/iOS.

  • Good depth of knowledge in the MVC, MVP, MVPC, MVVP architectures and advocate design patterns where necessary.

  • Proven skill in designing at product level.

  • Fast learner with good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Strong in analytical problem solving, identify patterns of the bugs and fix them through right design, good fundamentals in CS.

Preferred Qualification :

  • Having good expertise in both Android and iOS platforms.

  • Proven capability in tuning performance and reliability of apps.

  • Hands on experience in developing reusable controls and have exposure to designing framework for a project.

  • Contributions to open source.
