Description

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Risk Manager, Travel and Expense Reimbursement Audit (TERA) to support the Finance Operations Risk Management Services in Accounts Payable at Amazon. We are looking for a leader that will take ownership and drive change in a dynamic global business environment. This individual will ensure Amazon's Finance Operations processes stay ahead in identifying fraud and risks in areas of process design, internal control effectiveness, computer system integration, and other relevant areas through a culture of continuous inspection of our processes, systems, and key business initiatives.

This individual must have a passion for team leadership; driving efficiencies with those around them. This individual must have outstanding process knowledge, data analysis, auditing skills and customer obsessed.

Key job responsibilities

• Carries out the vision and mission of TERA team to prevent, detect, and investigate issues of potential fraud and financial abuse by employees within the company

• Manages end to end lifecycle of a complex cross-functional risk program and focus on building scalable fraud investigation program to early detect fraud, abuse and wastage by employees in the expense reimbursement process.

• Manages fraud investigation team and drive operational process efficiency to deliver qualitative results on the cases flagged though fraud detection models within defined SLAs

• Drives improvement projects to reduce investigator defects, idle time and case investigation SLAs.

• Implements operational program controls by creating project plans, establish SOPs, process controls, prioritize and coordinate workstreams as necessary

• Maintains subject matter expertise and current industry knowledge to advise product leadership on emerging trends and potential impact on product roadmap

• Identifies control deficiencies and engages with internal teams to measure impact, design and

drive remediation. Establishes mechanisms to refresh risk measurement and inform recalibration of risk tolerance.

• Earns trust of business and technical leadership by proactively engaging in order to understand product offerings and technical architecture.

• Sets up mechanisms to continuously track, review and report key program metrics and identifies opportunities to improve program health.

• Delivers the right things with limited guidance and influences others to build consensus by driving mindful discussions that leads to crisp decisions and stakeholder alignment

• Effectively sets expectations and builds robust launch plans for new team members

• Sets and balances goals across team to optimize performance against department goals and employee development; Applies performance standards to team and Identifies resource needs for team.

• Effectively coaches and gives feedback to direct reports to help develop talent, grow individual functional skills, leadership capability and support career development

• Understand and follow Amazon’s policies and procedures on expense reimbursement, corporate cards and Business Code of Conduct

Basic Qualifications

• MBA/Post graduate degree in finance and/or professional qualification like Chartered Accountant/Certified Fraud Examiner.

• Minimum of 12+ years of relevant professional experience in Internal audit, external audit, fraud investigation etc.

• Experience in data analysis using Excel, Quick Sight etc.

• Minimum of 7+ years of team lead or team management experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Work experience in expense reimbursement audit, corporate cards fraud, employee investigations, conflict of interest or any other forensic investigation. Prior Forensic experience or CFE would be an added advantage

• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Good Leadership and analytical skills, and ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Good interpersonal skills, including persuasive written and oral communication skills
