This important science, technology, and innovation center will support a range of technology and drug development activities that will help us usher in the next wave of innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage Red Hat Linux-based systems and services.

  • Install, upgrade, and maintain Linux based operating systems.

  • Configure and maintain servers, storage, and networking components.

  • Manage system backups, restore and recovery.

  • Manage user accounts, groups, and services.

  • Implement security measures and compliance standards to protect our infrastructure.

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime.

  • Automate routine tasks and processes to streamline operations.

  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards.

  • Document server incidents, outages and troubleshooting steps to ensure thorough investigation, accurate resolution and proper preventative measures are in place to prevent future occurrences.

  • Collaborate with other teams to integrate new technologies and solutions.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders.

  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in Linux technologies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent professional experience.

  • At least 5+ years of experience as a Platform/Infrastructure Engineer or Operating Systems Administrator.

  • Strong proficiency in RedHat Linux administration and troubleshooting.

  • In-depth knowledge of platform architecture, network, and security principles.

  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or KVM.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python) for automation.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytics skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a global team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Self-accountable and able to manage own time to meet deadlines.

  • Action Oriented: Take on new opportunities with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.

  • Intellectually curious and willing to evaluate and quickly learn new technologies.

  • High level of energy and enthusiasm with the ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.

  • RedHat certifications (e.g. RHCSA, RHCE) are a plus.

  • AWS Cloud certification is a plus.

  • Experience implementing SAP solutions for pharmaceutical industry, in FDA and GxP regulated environment is a plus.

  • Experience managing projects or components of large projects.

  • Able to deal with ambiguity in problem definition and organizational relationships. Experience working in a matrix organization.

  • Able to manage work across virtual teams.

  • Strong oral and written presentation skills.

  • Demonstrates openness to learning new skills and helping others to raise their technology quotient.

  • Demonstrates a focus on improving processes, structures, and knowledge within the team. Leads in analyzing current states, delivering strong recommendations that are actionable.

  • Ability to direct multiple activities and projects at once and prepare for a pipeline of demand.
