Oversees the people who lead internal information system-specific projects from initiation to delivery. Manages and prioritizes the project stream, working with internal customers to determine project definition and business requirements.

Provides budget analysis, resource allocation, and coordination of project activities that may be across functional areas within the organization. Assigns and monitors work of technical personnel, ensuring that project steps are in alignment with business objectives, on time, and within budget.

Monitors reliability and any internal issues that appear as a result of the project. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Working at NTT

The main duty of the Strategic Project Manager is to manage strategic projects that are key for the NTT Managed Services (CSD Division) evolution and growth. Those strategic projects are part of bigger programs, portfolios and initiatives typically managed by our Strategic Program Managers.

This role should monitor and control the quality, scope, schedule and resources for these key projects to ensure the NTT CSD achieves the correct outcomes and following the overall NTT strategy.

As part of the Integration Management Office (IMO), the Strategic Project Manager will be reporting to the IMO Director.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the planning, development, and implementation of assigned company projects and new business development using the Project Management Professional (PMP-PMI) methods aligned with the lean Agile execution process.

  • Creates schedules and follows up to ensure that each phase of a strategic project proceeds as planned.

  • Manages the scope of work, objectives, quality deliverables, resources, risks, and other project management activities.

  • Lead the operational contribution to proposal development and business development activities at a project level.

  • Maintains and evaluates project progress by maintaining timelines and other tracking/analysis tools.

  • Lead and ensure consistency in contingency planning and risk mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.

  • Any other duties required by the Senior Management which is reasonably within the scope of this role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Communication and leadership

  • Planning and organizing (structured mindset).

  • Proactive co-operation (desire to learn and improve).

  • Have a proven track record of managing projects in the Service Integration Industries.

  • Be able to demonstrate leadership abilities.

  • Conceptual understanding of service platforms and delivery models.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project applications.

  • Tenacious attention to detail and quality.

  • Experience of working within a project office and/or program management.

  • A background in Professional Services based engagement.

  • Relevant certifications, e.g. PMI, SAFe

  • Written and spoken English (fluent / native)

  • Written and spoken Spanish (fluent / native)

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience

  • Demonstrated experience delivering IT projects

  • Experience delivering projects using an agile methodology – SAFe would be an advantage

  • Experience in managing teams, including line management

  • Experience interacting with stakeholders on planning, progress tracking, communication, and escalation activities

  • Good background on what is technically required to deliver IT projects
