We are the Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) organization. We deliver updates to every Windows-based device in the world to protect users and enable them to be productive. While Security remains our primary focus, we also enable our commercial and enterprise customers by enabling new device support, addressing reliability and upgrade blocking issues. Our work is critical for the Windows family of devices, SurfaceHub, Hololens, Azure and more. We are an agile team and ship twice every month, impacting over a billion Windows devices in the ecosystem. You will collaborate with your teammates in IDC, and your partner teams in Ireland and Redmond, Washington, USA.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering features, enhancements, and fixing of customer reported problems to the Windows Operating System across different Windows SKUs with high quality results and full accountability.

  • Finding ways to improve products, tools, and processes for long-term benefit for Microsoft and customers.

  • Leverage the expertise to proactively identify and resolve complex challenges.

  • Play a crucial role in ensuring the team's progress towards achieving project objectives

  • Technically mentoring junior engineers in the team.

  • Motivated to build constructive and effective relationships and solve problems collaboratively.

  • Anticipate, identify, assess, track, and mitigate project risks and issues in a fast-paced start up like environment.j

Qualifications

  • B Tech or M Tech in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience in software development using development technologies such as C++, WinUI or XAML.

  • Demonstrated engineering leadership and experience in building and managing diverse and inclusive teams.

  • Proven design and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on quality and engineering excellence.

  • Excellent debugging skills, hands-on knowledge of WinDBG is desirable

  • Enthusiasm for developing high quality Windows Experiences that are powered by cutting edge technologies

  • Critical, creative, and innovative thinking skills.

  • The ability to work well in a diverse, global, team-focused environment.

  • Hands on experiences with software engineering principles and best practices such as design patterns, code quality, testing, debugging, etc.

  • Experience in the full development lifecycle of deploying software at scale

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive and supportive team.
