About Team:

Providing outstanding product development services to Thermo Fisher Scientific Global Business Units, is one of the core functions of the India Engineering Center (IEC). This Global Research and Development Center, established in 2009, is located in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, with over 150 employees. We are a team committed to develop innovative and groundbreaking technologically sophisticated products ranging from laboratory equipment, analytical instruments, remote monitoring solutions, chromatography and mass spectrometry. We are proud of the work that we do at the India Engineering Center thereby fulfilling our mission of making the world a healthier, cleaner and safer place!

How will you make an impact?

As part of Thermo Fisher Scientific you will work on a team that develops software to support scientific instrument research and development. As part of an agile scrum team, you will play a key role in crafting an outstanding user experience for our customers around the globe.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Craft and develop desktop software applications based on C# .NET framework and object-oriented programming (OOP) techniques.

  • Participate in code, design and test plan reviews.

  • Maintain post launch product software, provide resolution to product quality issues.

  • Update software architectures to improve product functionality.

  • Work with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

  • Comfortable working with CI/CD environments.

  • Work with global software team members to deliver complete and high-quality software applications to schedule and specification.

  • Establishes and maintains detailed and accurate documentation of all work.

  • Build, practice software reusable content and drive continual improvement

  • Demonstrate strong sense of ownership, and drive

  • Ability to work independently and inclusive with team.

How will you get here

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Computer Science / Electronics or its equivalent)

Experience

  • 11 plus years of proven experience in relevant software industry.

  • Strong C# .NET development skills.

  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Very good with data structures, design patterns, object-oriented design and algorithms used in programming

  • Experience in following formal software development lifecycle, including working with requirements, creation of functional/design specifications, code reviews, code coverage and engaging in process improvements.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill.

  • Experience working with global teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with relational databases and ORM technologies.

  • Knowledge of concurrent programming and multithreading.

  • Experience with testdriven development (TDD).
